【Iwami Ginzan UNESCO World Heritage Site】
Located in Oda City, Shimane Prefecture, Iwami Ginzan was once a massive silver mine that astonished the world in the 16th–17th centuries. It is said that around one-third of the world’s silver at that time was mined here.
Stepping into the preserved Ryugenji Mabu Mine Shaft, you can feel the cool, damp air of the tunnels and experience the atmosphere of the era firsthand. 💁🏻♀️
The surrounding townscape features beautiful Edo-period houses and stone-paved streets, making a stroll through the area feel like stepping back in time! ✨
Iwami Ginzan is a serene UNESCO World Heritage Site where history and nature harmoniously coexist, inviting visitors to lose themselves in the gentle flow of time.
