Solo Leveling is an anime television series based on Chugong's South Korean web novel of the same name. It is produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Shunsuke Nakashige, with Noboru Kimura writing the scripts, Tomoko Sudo designing the characters, and Hiroyuki Sawano composing the music.The first season was originally scheduled for 2023,but was delayed and later aired from January 7 to March 31, 2024, on Tokyo MX and other networks.

The story takes place in a world where there are passages called "Gates" that connect another dimension to the present world, and where people with special abilities called "Hunters" exist. One day, Sung Jinwoo, the lowest-ranked Hunter, known as the weakest weapon of humanity, suddenly gains the power to "level up" on his own.
Crunchyroll streams the series worldwide except in East Asia,with the exception of the country of India.The first episode was screened in Tokyo, Seoul, Los Angeles, India, and Europe in December 2023.
The opening theme song is "Level" performed by SawanoHiroyuki and Tomorrow X Together,while the ending theme song is "Request" performed by Krage.Crunchyroll licensed the series outside of Asia. Medialink licensed the series in Southeast Asia and Oceania (except Australia and New Zealand).

SEASON ONE
EPISODE 1:
I’M USED TO IT
Sung Jin-woo, considered the weakest Hunter in the world, enters a dungeon gate with his friend Lee Joo-hee and other stronger Hunters. After the boss is killed, the gate does not collapse but instead reveals a second connected dungeon. The party is split evenly on whether or not to proceed; Jin-woo casts the tiebreaker to send them down into the second half of the double dungeon. The party finds the dungeon empty save for a large room filled with statues, which come alive and begin slaughtering the Hunters.

EPISODE 2:
IF I HAD ONE MORE CHANCE
Jin-woo realizes that the dungeon they are in has specific rules by which to survive the statues - first, to "revere God," second to "praise God," and finally to "prove your faith to God." Several Hunters are killed as Jin-woo and the senior Hunter leading the party, Song Chi-yul, slowly manage to decipher the instructions on how to survive. Finally, only Chi-yul, Joo-hee (who has collapsed from the stress), and Jin-woo are left, and Jin-woo tells Chi-yul to evacuate with Joo-hee while he holds the door. Left alone, Jin-woo rages against his imminent death. However, as he dies, he receives a message that he has completed the hidden quest and may become a [Player] if he accepts the offer.

EPISODE 3:
IT’S LIKE A GAME
Jin-woo wakes up after three days of sleep, initially thinking that he might have only dreamed the events of the double-dungeon. Investigators from the Hunters Association confirm that it really did happen - Joo-hee is traumatized, and Chi-yul is reportedly retiring after losing his arm- and check to see if Jin-woo experienced the very rare "second awakening", in which a Hunter experiences an increase in ability. The test results come back negative. Jin-woo discovers a message similar to the one that declared him a player, with daily goals to hit and a penalty for failing to complete them. After skipping the first day and nearly dying when he is thrown into a penalty quest, Jin-woo begins completing his daily goals. He receives stat bonuses and loot boxes, which result in him receiving a special item - an instance dungeon key. He enters and is confronted by a wolf monster stronger than anything he had fought before.

EPISODE 4:
I’VE GOTTA GET STRONGER
Jin-woo successfully kills the wolf and gains a level. More appear, and he continues through the dungeon, killing more and more and gaining more strength before defeating the dungeon's boss. Meanwhile, outside the instance, a dungeon break (a dungeon is not cleared properly and monsters escape into the real world) occurs, allowing a golem to enter the real world. Arriving Hunters, including a PTSD-stricken Joo-hee, fail to deal any damage. Emerging from the instance, Jin-woo is guided to the battle and throws his broken sword into the golem boss, shattering its defense and allowing the gathered Hunters to take it down. He departs, reflecting that the golem must have been more injured than he'd expected.

EPISODE 5:
A PRETTY GOOD DEAL
Jin-woo joins C-rank Hunter Hwang Dongsuk and his five associates in a pick-up group to tackle a C-rank insect dungeon, with the contract stipulating that Jin-woo doesn't have to fight but won't get any battle drops; Jin-woo becomes suspicious of Dongsuk's motives due to the situation. Rounding out the eight-member requirement to enter the dungeon is first-timer D-rank Yoo Jin-ho, whose family wealth has gotten him equipped with very expensive and powerful gear. After the Hunters defeat a wave of monster ants, they find the dungeon boss - a giant sleeping spider in a room with highly valuable mineable mana crystals. Jin-ho reviews Jin-woo's contract and notes that since the crystals aren't battle drops, Jin-woo should get a full share. In retaliation, Dongsuk and his party spring their plan to keep everything and trap Jin-woo and Jin-ho in the boss room, waking up the spider in the process. Jin-woo prepares to kill the dungeon boss.

EPISODE 6:
THE REAL HUNT BEGINS
Jin-woo successfully defeats the boss, much to Jin-ho's shock. When Dongsuk and his group re-enter the boss room, he attempts to coerce Jin-ho into killing Jin-woo, but Jin-ho refuses. Jin-woo receives a new quest to kill Dongsuk's group under penalty of death, leading him to massacre them. He exits the dungeon with Jin-ho, using the cover story of the others having been slain by the dungeon monsters.

EPISODE 7:
LET’S SEE HOW FAR I CAN GO
Jin-ho offers Jin-woo a building in exchange for his help in fulfilling requirements for guild certification; Jin-woo rejects the offer. Jin-woo notices his daily mission keeps incrementing past the requirements. Upon maxing it out, he is rewarded with another instance key - this time to an S-rank dungeon that rewards a special potion that can heal any illness; Jin-woo realizes it can cure his mother and decides to risk it. The first battle within the dungeon is against a guardian Cerberus, which nearly kills Jin-woo multiple times before he finally manages to slay the beast. His reward is the key to the castle Cerberus was guarding, within which is the ingredients he needs to craft the potion. Knowing he would die if he pressed on, he promises himself to return later and succeed. Meanwhile, the Hunters Association investigates the death of Dongsuk after learning the dungeon boss was defeated. Dongsuk's younger brother, the S-rank Dongsoo, blames Jin-woo and Jin-ho and swears revenge.

EPISODE 8:
THIS IS FRUSTRATING
Jin-woo visits his comatose mother and decides to push forward with getting stronger so that he can get the needed ingredients to save her; he thus accepts Jin-ho's request to aid in running dungeons to allow creation of a guild. To fulfill the party member requirement for C-rank dungeons, the Hunters Association recruits the survivors of the double dungeon raid (Jin-woo, Joo-hee, Chi-yul, Kim Sangshik, and Kang Jeongho), and due to a shortage of Hunters in the area, the group is rounded out by several imprisoned Hunters, who serve in exchange for reduced sentences, that are overseen by B-rank Kang Taeshik.

EPISODE 9:
YOU’VE BEEN HIDING YOUR SKILLS
At a three-way junction, the group splits up. Kang uses the separation to murder the prisoners at the behest of their victim's father, and when Jeongho and Sangshik's path leads them to stumble upon the scene, Kang kills them to cover it up. Jin-woo, Joo-hee, and Chi-yul race back to the scene and confront Kang, and Jin-woo reveals his newfound power to kill Kang. A grateful Chi-yul covers for Jin-woo. Later that night, Joo-hee asks Jin-woo if he "remembers", holding up a small Essence Stone.

EPISODE 10:
WHAT IS THIS,A PICNIC?
Joo-hee tells Jin-woo she is retiring as a Hunter, and to look her up if he ever finds himself at her home. Jin-ho buys the dungeon rights for multiple C-rank dungeons and recruits low-ranked Hunters to fill dungeon requirements while Jin-woo and Jin-ho are the only ones who go in to clear them. Ahn Sangmin, the White Tiger Guild's Second Administration Team manager notices Sung Jin-woo's name and puts the pieces together that Jin-woo must have reawakened. He attempts to recruit Jin-woo but fails. Jin-woo receives a message - having achieved a level requirement, he is now offered a job-change quest.

EPISODE 11:
A KNIGHT WHO DEPENDS AN EMPTY THRONE
Jin-woo starts the job-change quest, and is teleported to a massive castle. After fighting through waves of knights, assassins, and mages (apparently mimicking those he's fought previously) he confronts Igris, the Bloodred Knight Commander. Igris is every bit as powerful and moreso than Jin-woo, who only barely manages to slay the Knight. The actual job-change quest activates, unleashing an unending horde of the monsters he'd fought on the way to Igris' chamber. Meanwhile, the S-rank hunters of Korea gather and head for Jeju Island, years ago the site of an S-rank dungeon break.

EPISODE 12:
ARISE
Overwhelmed by the seemingly endless horde and recalling his prior circumstances, Jin-woo nearly despairs before deciding to press forward. The timer for the daily quest expires and he is transferred to a penalty zone, which he uses to recover and prepare himself. Returned to the castle, he succeeds in defeating first the horde. As a reward he gains the title "Shadow Monarch" and the ability to bring the dead back to life as his "shadow army." Meanwhile, the S-rank hunters make a horrifying discovery - the Jeju Island S-rank monsters have begun to evolve and threaten to spread to the mainland.

(Japanese: ババンババンバンバンパイア, Hepburn: Baban Baban Ban Banpaia) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiromasa Okujima. It began serialization in Akita Shoten's shōnen manga magazine Bessatsu Shōnen Champion in October 2021. An anime television series adaptation produced by Gaina premiered in January 2025, and a live-action film adaptation has been announced.

Ranmaru Mori is a live-in part-timer at a long-established public bathhouse, whose true identity is a 450-year-old vampire. He is in search of the ultimate taste, "the blood of an 18-year-old virgin," and continues to protect the virginity of the only son of the bathhouse, 15-year-old Rihito. However, when Rihito reaches puberty, he falls in love at first sight with a girl in the same class! Ranmaru's desperate plan to stop him from losing his virginity begins...!

Ranmaru Mori

Ranmaru - Babanbabanban Vampire
A vampire dedicated to cleaning, Ranmaru finds his current way of living to be convenient. Having Michael Jackson on his phone, Ranmaru listens to relatively modern-day tunes yet is mortified to find himself dancing to them. When Rihito saved his life, he was touched by his pure heart. Ranmaru is upfront that he is waiting for the blood of an innocent eighteen-year-old virgin. 450 himself, Ranmaru says his physical body is around 25 years old. Regarding humans as food, Ranmaru thinks the difference between a virgin and a non-virgin is like a wagyu beef compared to an eraser. Using his life experiences, Ranmaru intends to sever feelings of love Rihito may have. Having murdered others, Ranmaru thinks that humans will never understand the feelings of sadness as he climaxes while the person he loves slowly goes cold.

Rihito Tatsuno

Rihito - Babanbabanban Vampire
This year, Rihito will become a high schooler at age 15. Nervous about starting school, Rihito freely shares with Ranmaru that it is because he is worried he will get bullied. Happy around his family, Rihito is also open to discussing his feelings, namely that he has found a girl he likes and seeks Ranmaru for advice on what to do. Having exchanged numbers with Aoi, he continues to resort to Ranmaru's guidance on proceeding, unaware that he has misinterpreted his intentions.

Aoi Shinozuka

Aoi - Babanbabanban Vampire
After Rihito bumped into her, she handed him a hanker-chief. Finding Ranmaru outside her bedroom window, Aoi denies she is in love with Rihito. She deems Rihito kind but does not have that type of relationship. Outright commanded to fall in love, Aoi elects to give some thought, not to Rihito however, but to Ranmaru. Wondering if they can meet again, Aoi refers to Ranmaru as vampire-sama.

Haruhiko Tatsuno

Rihito's dad, he is 45 and runs the bathhouse where Ranmaru is employed at. Laughing at Ranmaru's stories about drinking blood, Haruhiko thinks he is joking. Informed that his son is in love, Haruhiko says for Rihito to tell him about her. Teasing him about how they met, Haruhiko's fatherly advice is for Rihito to use a condom.

Choujirou Tatsuno

He lives at the Tatsuno family bathhouse. Choujirou is eighty and does not recognize Ranmaru, despite him having worked at the bathhouse for ten years. Choujirou thought it was the grim reaper coming to get him again.

Rihito's Mother

As Ranmaru speaks about supposed vampire experiences, she feels her family has pushed this "vampire character" onto him. She assumes Ranmaru is just playing along.

Kudou

Childhood friends with Rihito, he is in the same class and asks that he introduce Aoi to him. Raising how Rihito owns a bathhouse, Kudou has to ask whether he has seen Aoi naked. Kudou is a member of the baseball club.

Franken

He resolves to punish Ranmaru for picking on who he says are his cute kouhais. He seems to believe said kouhais that they were not the cause of the problem where they ganged up on Rihito.

Exhibitionist

This man draws close to Aoi, before parting his cloak to reveal that he is naked. Finding that Aoi fainted, then looking around, he asserts that if she fell asleep in a place like this then a creep is going to do creepy things to her. He decides he must take Aoi home. He adds it is Aoi's fault for walking around by herself in these dimly lit streets. Promptly after, the Exhibitionist has his face smashed into a wall by Ranmaru.

Story

Ranmaru Mori thinks he is a vampire, and as he awakens, he heads to clean the sauna room floor. At a bathhouse of sixty years, Ranmaru lives there and works part-time. Taking a break, Ranmaru dances to a Michael Jackson song before Rihito Tatsuno discovers him. While Rihito wants to speak with him, Ranmaru is concerned that he will be tired for tomorrow's school entrance ceremony. When Rihito shares that he is nervous, he does not answer why. Instead, he hands Ranmaru a can of tomato juice.

As they have a drink together, Rihito hears his classmates for the year are pretty unruly, and he is worried he will get bullied. Assuring him there is nothing to worry about, Ranmaru begins to say that if anyone who even looks like they will bully Rihito, he will kill them. Adjusting the final part of what he was about to say, Ranmaru claims he will kick up some delicious croquettes and offer them before asking them to be nice. Although Rihito does not get it, he appears happy and thanks Ranmaru, who is pleased to see his joy.

Thinking about it, Rihito is the reason Ranmaru is staying here. Ten years ago, Ranmaru was being pursued by a particular organization. Exhausted and outside being burnt by the sun, Ranmaru came across Rihito playing with a football and asked for his help. After Rihito returned inside, Ranmaru concluded that someone would not lend a hand to such a monster. Burning, then collapsing, Ranmaru accepted his death. Opening his eyes, Ranmaru found Rihito, saying there was a place he could hide since no one was coming around that day.

Touched by Rihito's honest, innocent-looking eyes and pure heart, Ranmaru initially thought he wanted his everything. Ranmaru felt it was wrong to relate this to human love, as a vampire it was the case they had food they prefer. It was the blood of an eighteen-year-old virgin boy that Ranmaru preferred. Another three years later, Ranmaru considers he will have Rihito's pure blood. To that end, Ranmaru stays here and looks over Rihito to stop him from being defiled.

In the bathhouse, Ranmaru and Rihito are found by the latter's dad, Haruhiko Tatsuno, who is keen to celebrate tomorrow. While Ranmaru speaks to Haruhiko about how he does not mind working for free when the topic comes up, he thinks it is because he will be taking his son's life. The living arrangements at the bathhouse are considered as the residents gather to eat. Choujirou Tatsuno asks who Ranmaru is, even though he has worked there for ten years. Answering, Ranmaru tells Choujirou he is four hundred and fifty years old. Rihito and Haruhiko laugh at what they think is a joke. Continuing, Ranmaru says to Choujirou that he is a vampire. As Choujirou begins praying to have mercy as he genuinely believes what he says, the laughter from others continues.

As Rihito builds on the joke and asks how Ranmaru became a vampire, it seems the truth is that Ranmaru was turned into one by a vampire from a European trade ship. For some reason, only half of Ranmaru's blood was taken, and vampire blood was injected into him. As Rihito's mother interrupts the story with a gift for Rihito, the history topic comes up. Ranmaru claims to have been acquainted with several historical figures, such as Lord Nobunaga, Hijikata Toshizhou, Ryouma, and Dazai, and alludes to drinking their blood and murdering them.

While Ranmaru contemplates how humans are just food to him, Rihito notices the time and heads to bed. As Ranmaru bids him goodnight, Rihito thanks him for being reassuring. Because he will be in high school, Rihito feels he cannot keep relying on Ranmaru. Alone, Ranmaru finds Rihito's pureness to be arousing. Asking himself if he should devour Rihito now, Ranmaru returns to his senses to await when Rihito is 'complete.' Asked what is the matter by Rihito's mother, Ranmaru replies that he is going to a bar.

Cloaked, Ranmaru has decided to go on a quick hunt. In a city, Ranmaru co-exists with humans but drinks the blood of criminals, which he can sense. Seizing someone who he perceives is a murderer, Ranmaru bites into the man. Finding the blood disgusting, Ranmaru wants to drink the blood of someone pure, as Rihito envisioned.

The next morning, Rihito is late for school and accidentally runs into Aoi Shinozuka. After the day at school has ended, Rihito returns home to tell Ranmaru about it and shares that he has found someone he likes. Ranmaru is shocked, while Rihito asks what he should do, as he thinks it is love. Ranmaru says to leave everything to him, which Rihito interprets as meaning that he will help him. Instead, Ranmaru intends to prevent virginity loss.[1]

Sakamoto Days (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki [ja].
