The Miyama Kawatombo (Calopteryx cornelia), a large damselfly with metallic green bodies and brown-tinted wings found in clear mountain streams like Kyoto's Kuta River, lives for 2 to 3 years as an aquatic nymph (larva/ago) and roughly 1 to 2 months as a flying adult.
