Japan summer through my lens 🎆🇯🇵

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P does an amazing job capturing the fireworks especially under low light settings.
Thanks to its 1-inch CMOS sensor, 17-stop dynamic range and D-Log 2 which help retain detail in the bright highlights while capturing the darker night sky.

The 60mm-equivalent 3× telephoto lens with an f/1.8 aperture gives portraits a more natural, compressed look while bringing the fireworks beautifully into the background.

A tiny setup, but powerful enough to capture cinematic moments✨

Because sometimes you don’t just want to remember what the fireworks looked like — you want to remember being there in the moment 🎆

日本の夏を、私のレンズ越しに🎆🇯🇵
DJI Osmo Pocket 4P

Honored to witness the Kanmon Straits Fireworks Festival, one of western Japan’s largest fireworks festivals, right from our hotel room this year 🎆

It’s the only Japanese fireworks festival that crosses both a prefectural border and a strait.

Special thanks to リゾナーレ下関 - RISONARE Shimonoseki
It’s also their first summer since opening last December, making it an extra special one. ✨

🔖 Trip Planning Tips

🩵 Family-friendly stay — Risonare Shimonoseki is a great option for families, with facilities and spaces designed for guests traveling with children.

🩵 IMPORTANT ⚠️ Best for leisure viewing — Since the fireworks are launched from multiple locations across the Kanmon Strait, the view is better suited for relaxed viewing and enjoying the atmosphere than dedicated fireworks photography.

🩵 Skip the crowds — Staying nearby means you can enjoy the fireworks from the comfort of your hotel rather than dealing with the crowds and transportation rush afterward.

🩵 Book early for summer — The Kanmon Straits Fireworks Festival attracts huge crowds, so accommodation in the area can sell out quickly around the event.
