ー本作の発表をもって色彩シリーズの締めくくりとなるのだが、「ピンク」が発表されて13年が経っていることを考えると、まさに恋の始まりから終わりまでリアルな年数と言えるのではないか。声は生ものなので年数を重ねれば必ず変化が生まれる。ここで改めて「ピンク」と「レッド」を聴いてみよう。今現在の彼女の歌声が、切ない思いを歌うには充分すぎるほど説得力を持っていることに驚かれるはずだ。

🎤ケイティ・ジョージ
ージャズの伝統に根差したヴォーカルスタイルを華やかに聴かせてくれるのがケイティの最大の魅力。また彼女はシンガーとしてだけではなく自身で作曲も行い、本作でも13曲中11曲が彼女のオリジナル曲でしめられている。しかも、どれも往年の名スタンダードを彷彿とさせる聴き心地の良い楽曲ばかりで、あくまで"ジャズ・ミュージシャン"として活動するケイティの強いこだわりが感じられる。

I feel grateful and deeply humbled that blue was nominated today for a JUNO Award. My sincere thanks to the JUNO jury who felt it was deserving of their nomination.

Creating during the time of co-vid was a challenge and this accolade feels like a triumph in light of the curve balls thrown over the past few years.

So firstly, hats off to ALL the artists who were able to create during the pandemic. Secondly, congrats to all those nominated for your efforts and finally last, but not least, my best to the fellow talented nominees in the Vocal Jazz Category.

Despite the Vocal Jazz Category title, blue was very much a collective effort showcasing some of Canada's finest. It was an honour to work with the following exemplary artists on this project:
