燕市（新潟）の花魁道中 🇯🇵 |Oiran Dōchū in Tsubame, Niigata 🇯🇵

The Oiran Dōchū is a traditional reenactment of the grand processions of high-ranking courtesans (Oiran) from Japan’s Edo period. Dressed in elaborate silk kimono, ornate hairstyles, and towering wooden clogs, the Oiran would walk slowly and gracefully through the streets, accompanied by attendants. Today, this elegant parade is recreated in Tsubame City, Niigata, offering a glimpse into the refined culture and pageantry of old Japan.
花魁道中は、日本の江戸時代における高位の遊女（花魁）の華やかな行列を再現した伝統的な催しです。豪華な絹の着物や華やかな髪型、高下駄を身にまとい、花魁は付き人を従えてゆっくりと優雅に街を練り歩きました。現在では、この優美な行列が新潟県燕市で再現され、往時の洗練された文化と華やかさを垣間見ることができます。
