Jef’s Burger: Okinawa’s Retro Foodie Gem

Step into this retro drive-in for their famous Nuyaru Burger (a local twist with bitter melon and egg), golden waffle fries, onion rings, and the best fried chicken ever – perfectly crispy and juicy.

Looking for a convenient stay in Tokushima? 🏨
We stayed at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Tokushima Ekimae and highly recommend it!

The location is perfect!
Right in front of the bus terminal and just a short walk from Tokushima Station. 🚉🚌

The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable, with spacious bathrooms and everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Note:
Our stay was from April 29 to May 1, 2025 (2 nights), and we paid ¥24,702 total (about $160.50).
That’s ¥12,351 per night (~$80/night) for a Superior Non-Smoking Room with 1 queen bed for 2 adults.

Kobe by the sea – food, beer, and a cruise! 🌊
At Mosaic, our favorite stop is New Munchen (ニューミュンヘン), serving crispy Tamba fried chicken and cold Sapporo beer. 🍗🍺

Right in front of Kobe Tower and the harbor, you can also hop on the Concerto cruise ship for a scenic ride. A perfect spot for food, views, and fun in Kobe! 🎡

A Countryside Gem: Saba Sushi Worth the Hunt

Almost gave up on finding saba sushi… but Takashima had one last surprise for us! 🐟

The final shop we stumbled upon not only had yaki saba sushi, it had the best we’ve ever tasted!

Add in the sweetest local grandma, and it became an unforgettable countryside foodie find.

Who else is team ‘never give up when hunting for food’? 😋

Its calm, crystal-clear waters stretch as far as the eye can see.
And right in the middle of this stunning view stands the torii gate of Shirahige Shrine, quietly watching over the lake for over 1900 years.

Osaka’s Hidden Roadside Gem✨

A foodie paradise at one of Osaka’s BEST roadside stations! 🚗💨

📍Kuro Maro no Sato (Kuroshio Village) blew me away with its local farmer’s market—fresh peaches, sweet white corn, and eggs ranked No. 1 for tamago kake gohan!

🍞 The bakery? Absolutely irresistible.
And yes… there’s an eat-all-you-can tempura buffet with views to match. Heaven!

Japan’s Michi-no-Eki never disappoint. 🙌🏻

Filled with a gently sweet red bean paste, it’s not too sugary, just perfectly balanced like most Japanese sweets. 🍵✨
