Ine is a fishing village on the coast of the Sea of Japan in the north of Kyoto Prefecture. The village is famous for its some 230 funaya(船屋), wooden boathouses, lined up for five kilometers along Ine Bay. These houses have an unique construction. The first floor, which offers direct access to the sea, is used to store boats and fishing gear. Above this is a secondary living room which is connected to the main house with access to the road.

Hanoi Train Street is a unique and vibrant destination nestled in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

It is a narrow stretch of railway that runs through densely packed residential areas, with buildings and cafés positioned just inches from the tracks. Constructed in 1902 during French colonial rule, the line remains active today, serving as a vital link between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City .

Along the tracks, numerous cafés have sprung up, offering visitors a chance to enjoy traditional Vietnamese coffee—such as egg coffee or strong drip coffee—while watching trains pass by.

Day 2

I visited Fansipan (Vietnamese: Phan Xi Păng), the highest mountain on the Indochinese Peninsula (which includes Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia), standing at 3,147.3 meters. It’s often called “the Roof of Indochina.”

To reach the summit, we took the Fansipan cable car—a 6.3 km (3.9 mi) long, three-rope system that holds two Guinness World Records: the longest nonstop three-rope cable car, and the greatest elevation difference achieved by a nonstop three-rope cable car.

Mt. Katsuragi
There's a ropeway to the peak but we chose to hike our way up. It took us 3 hours to reach the peak but experienced hikers can do it for atleast an hour and a half. Unfortunately, azalea flowers were not yet in full bloom. Nevertheless, the view from the top was breathtaking. Highly recommended for beginners.
