Find someone who will go to the ends of the earth to make sure your vacation is the best it can possibly be when disaster hits 🥹

Apparently walking boots are not common at ALL in Japan, but Paul happened to find this teeeeny tiny clinic in Kyoto that had one and we were able to get it right away, and now I can (kinda! For short periods!) walk again!!

I am taking a rest day today while the fam does a walking tour of Kyoto, and hopefully I will be able to participate some more after that! So thankful for Paul and his unwillingness to give up on finding a solution 💜

We always joke about how Paul, without fail, gets super sick on almost every vacation we take. The flu in Hawaii. The flu at disneyworld for our honeymoon. Covid in France.
He’s been so paranoid leading up to this trip- washing his hands constantly, taking vitamins, wearing a mask on the plane.. because he refused to get sick in Japan, a place that he has wanted to visit for DECADES. This is his and Violet’s dream destination.
Of course, in a hilariously cruel twist of fate, Paul is not sick this time. On our first morning here, as we left the subway station to see Osaka castle, I missed the last step, fell and ate absolute s**t and ended up fracturing my foot and now I can’t really walk. In the country where tourists will easily walk 20,000 steps a day.

Thankfully Paul is absolutely incredible in disaster mode and has been a literal saint. He found me a wheelchair within an hour, he’s been waking up at all hours to get me pain meds and ice, and basically breaking his back pushing this very tiny wheelchair 😂 if nothing else this will be a memorable trip!

Can someone explain to me WHY this type of luggage is not more common?? I have always had the kind that opens from the middle and didn’t even know a top opening one was a thing until like.. three weeks ago 😳 idk I feel like this is going to be SO much better for traveling, thoughts?
Btw I’ll add where I got this on in the comments, I’m obsessed with the color 😍
