নোবোরিবেতসু, হোক্কাইদো
মনে হয় যেন হঠাৎ করে আরেকটি জগতে ঢুকে পড়লাম। চারপাশে ধোঁয়া উঠছে, গরম ঝর্ণার বাষ্প বাতাসে মিশে এক ধরনের গন্ধ ছড়াচ্ছে। হালকা সালফারের, যেন পৃথিবীর গভীর থেকে নিঃশ্বাস বের হচ্ছে। পাহাড়ি পাথরগুলো রঙে রঙে ভরা-কমলা, লাল, ধূসর। যা একেবারেই ভিন্ন এক দৃশ্য তৈরি করে।

এ জায়গাটিকে বলা হয় “হেল ভ্যালি” বা জিগোকুদানি, কিন্তু এখানে দাঁড়িয়ে মনে হয় প্রকৃতির অপার শক্তির সামনে মানুষ কত ক্ষুদ্র। ভয় আর বিস্ময়ের এক অদ্ভুত মিশ্রণ অনুভব হয়। নোবোরিবেতসুতে হেঁটে চলা মানে যেন আগ্নেয়গিরির ভেতরের রহস্যময় জগতে ঘুরে বেড়ানো।

হোক্কাইদোর শান্ত প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যের সাথে এই ভিন্নধর্মী, রহস্যময় পরিবেশ সত্যিই অবিস্মরণীয়।

I had the trip planned -the route, the stops, the timing. Just another peaceful journey through Hokkaido.

But standing near Charasenai, I saw a trail that wasn’t on the itinerary. No signs, no people - just a narrow path into the trees.

I wasn’t dressed for a hike. I had no idea how far it went. But something about it pulled me in.

The trail was muddy, quiet, and rough in places. But then it opened up - and the sound of falling water told me I made the right call.

This wasn’t part of the plan.

But it’s the part I’ll remember the most.
