I finally saw cherry blossoms in Japan! After years of coming here and somehow always missing them, getting to experience this for the first time feels so full circle!! I’m so happy to be back during spring! I really enjoyed how humans stopped in awe to observe them as well 🥹💛

This trip feels different! I’m living day-to-day life in a small town, exploring parts of Japan that don’t usually make it onto the travel highlight reel, practicing the language, connecting with the culture and the people in a way that feels real and slow and good. That’s the kind of content I’m excited to make and share here!

There’s something I love deeply about showing the sides of a country that surprise people, and Japan has so many of them. The nature, the quiet towns, the everyday moments, the connections that remind you we’re all a lot more alike than we think. I can’t wait to share all of it with you. ☀️🌸

Want to relocate to SE Asia? Here are the visa options that actually work for americans moving to SE asia, as someone who lived abroad since 2017! 💛

DTV visa. ED visa. tourist visa. vietnam e-visa. (+ a few others.)

Not all of them require being rich and not all of them are easy, but they’re real and allows you to live in a country for a specific amount of time (:

Bookmark this for later! Visa rules change constantly and this is what’s legit *right now*. ☀️

I’m sooo grateful! My first Travel Creator Workshop just wrapped and I am still on a high! Over 30 people showed up to learn, to grow, and to take their content seriously! And I got to be the one in the room leading it.

I started this journey as someone who just wanted to travel and tell stories. I never imagined I’d one day be teaching others how to do the same!

Thank you to everyone who came, who asked questions, who stayed after, who trusted me with their time.

More of these coming. We’re just getting started 💛

I don’t even know where to start. 🥹🇹🇭

Nomad Summit Chiang Mai was one of those experiences that quietly reorganizes something inside you. I came in open and I left full! Full of ideas, full of inspiration, and genuinely full of gratitude for every single person I got to meet!

I built a team from scratch with people I’d never met before. We did a hackathon together, developed a startup idea focused on making real impact for local communities and travelers, and actually presented it!

I led events. I learned from some of the most brilliant business minds I’ve encountered. I sat in rooms where everyone was building something, chasing something, becoming something and it lit a fire in me that I’m still feeling.

The friendships though I would say have the longest impact. People from all over the world who I now get to call friends. That’s not something I take lightly!

Thank you to everyone who was there. You made this one unforgettable! 💛

I found the stairs! 🎌

If you know, you know. And if you don’t, Your Name is a 2016 anime film that broke my heart in the best possible way. There’s a scene on a staircase that has lived in my memory ever since I watched it.

It was fun going on a hunt around Tokyo to try and find them! Now I am standing exactly where Taki and Mitsuha stood and I genuinely had to collect myself! I was so excited!

That’s the thing about Japan, it’s so beautiful and gives you such a sense of adventure and serenity. 🌸

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to choose a life that fits you.
Not the one you were handed, not the one that looks impressive from the outside, but the one that actually feels right when you’re living inside of it.

Chiang Mai these past few months has been that for me. Unhurried. Generous. Full of small, beautiful things that ask nothing of you except your presence.

I wake up here, enjoying life day by day, minute by minute, surrounded by amazing people, the smiles of Thailand, and the peace of it all. I’m not already

Just a few moments from my week where i’ve lived slowly and on purpose. 🇹🇭

I still can’t believe I hiked Mount Fuji last summer. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done and yet one of the most beautiful! Hours of climbing, especially during the middle of the night from 10pm-2am. Moments where I wasn’t sure I’d make it. But I kept going because hiking Mount Fuji has always been a dream of mine!

And the little hiking stick you get!! Where you collect stamps at each station going towards the top. I can’t believe I’ll have something like this for the rest my life!

And the feeling I got when I reached the top was literally out of this world and truly made me feel excited, in awe, and grateful all at once. When I hiked Mount Fuji, I came down wanting more. More of this earth. More of this life. More of the things that are challenging but I know will change me for the better 💛

Always so grateful for challenging and beautiful experiences 🥹

What is something you’d like to do even though it could be challenging?

The last time I lived in Chiang Mai, I purposely missed my flight home.

I was in my 20s and lost. Bartering photography for a free homestay and teaching for money because I didn’t know what else to do (it happens to all of us right??) Offering whatever skills I had to whoever would take them. I had no plan, no structure, no real direction - just this deep, stubborn feeling that I wasn’t supposed to leave yet. That the discomfort was doing something to me and so I stayed because I am the goofy person who loves and seeks discomfort.

Eight years later, I’m back! Same city but as a more complete (and honestly orgnanzed) version of me! ☀️

I came back in October and the first thing I did was walk to my favorite restaurant in the mall. I remembered exactly how to get there! I ordered pad ka prao like nothing had changed! But I - I changed.

The girl who was scrambling to figure out how to survive here? She’s now running content creation workshops. Networking at the Digital Nomad Summit. Building businesses from ideas that used to just float around in her head with nowhere to land. I’m more focused, more organized, more intentional.

But it’s not all business. My days are also full of discovering new cafés, admiring the baristas and their craft, trying tasty teas and juices. Going on random adventures around Chiang Mai with the friend group I’ve built here. Laughing a lot because to me it’s important to live slowly on purpose.

One of the reasons I love slow travel is that a place doesn’t just stay a place. It honestly feels like it becomes part of you, almost like a thread in a tapestry. Every person I meet, every conversation, every quiet morning and chaotic night market is weaving me into a new version of myself. In ways I can feel but can’t always explain.

I’m not the lost 20 something who missed her flight because she knew going home wasn’t it. I’m the woman who came back, but with more intention his time. 💛

Have you ever gone back to a place that changed you? Tell me about it!!

After years of dreaming, planning, working full time, running a wedding photography business, studying, networking, saving every bit we could, and support of friends we finally did it! We sold everything we owned and bought a one-way ticket to Japan to start our slow travel journey through Asia.

We have no idea what’s ahead, and yes, that’s a little scary. But we knew it was time. Time to choose intention over comfort. Time to live life with more connection, more community, more purpose.

We’ve never really been drawn to fancy cars or big houses. What we care about is people. Growth. Experiences. Living fully and honestly. Telling stories that matter. Feeling the sun on our skin in a brand new country.

Right now, we’re in Hawaii as a pit-stop to see my Husband’s family but we’ll be in Japan in a week! It still feels surreal to say that. But this is just the beginning. We’ll be sharing the highs, the lows, the laughter, the lessons, and everything in between.

If you’ve ever dreamed of something more, something different, come along with us. I promise it’ll be worth it ☀️

We decided to sell everything to pursue our dream of traveling and living abroad for 1–2 years. With a tight deadline to leave our apartment, our friends came over to help photograph our belongings for Facebook Marketplace and other selling platforms. ✨

It turned into a fun gathering! We provided snacks and drinks while listening to music and chatting while at the same time making great progress on our goal. 🥹 Though selling everything can be exhausting, it’s wonderful when friends come together to help! I’m truly grateful to have such amazing friends! 💛
