Both ください（kudasai） and お願いします（onegaishimasu） are phrases used to ask someone for something, but their usage is slightly different.
　
ください is used when asking for objects.
　
サンドイッチを一つください。
Sandoicchi o hitotsu kudasai.
Please give me one sandwich.
　
You can also use ください together with the te-form of a verb.

もう少しゆっくり話してください。
Mō sukoshi yukkuri hanash*te kudasai.
Please speak a little more slowly.
　
写真を撮ってください。
Shashin o totte kudasai.
Please take a photo.
　
お願いします（onegaishimasu） is used when asking for things or services.

Shukujitsu ga nannichi ka tsuzuku nagai renkyū n da.

It’s one of the longest holiday periods in Japan, along with New Year.
