One of the greatest lessons I have received from the Lord, one that has made a huge impact on my Christian journey is to 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚.
On our own, it's not always easy to remain grateful when the journey gets rough.
When we lose a loved one.
When we lose our job.
When someone betrays us.
When things don’t go as planned.
When the prayers we’ve been praying seem to have no answer.
In those moments, choosing gratitude can feel almost impossible. But God’s Word always reminds us that there is a way to overcome every situation: 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙃𝙞𝙢.
Philippians 4:6 says:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
When we learn to bring everything to God, not just our praises, but also our worries, disappointments, fears, and unanswered prayers,
we make room for His peace. And His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds.
Habakkuk 3:17–18 says us:
“Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines… yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”
This verse reminds me that our gratitude should not be dependent on our circumstances. We don’t rejoice because everything is going well; we rejoice because God remains good, faithful, and worthy of our praise, even when life doesn’t make sense.
There will always be seasons of abundance and seasons of waiting, seasons of joy, and seasons of pain.
But through every season, one thing remains constant: 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙪𝙨.
And when we look closely, we realize that we still have so many reasons to give praise to God. Yes, we may be facing challenges, disappointments, and things we don't understand, but His goodness still outweighs every challenge we encounter.
𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴. 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴. 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘴.
So, even in difficult seasons, may we never lose sight of who God is.
May we choose to focus not only on what we have lost, but also on everything God has graciously given us.
Not only on what is going wrong, but in all the ways He continues to show His goodness.
We may not have everything we prayed for, but we will always have a God who is worthy of our praise.
So when life becomes difficult, may we learn to say:
“Lord, I may not understand what You are doing, but I still choose to trust You. I still choose to surrender. And I still choose to be grateful.”
Because true gratitude is not about having a perfect life, it is about recognizing that we have a faithful God in every season.
And no matter what season we are in, we will always have a reason to praise Him
