Get • Hideoki Amano, founder of Musicmine, has died aged 63.
Since establishing the label group in 1994, Amano helped lay the groundwork for Japan’s techno scene, supporting artists through Musicmine and its sub-labels across more than 1,000 releases.
Paying tribute, wrote: “To me, Amano san was like a brother, a partner, a comrade that shared the good times of techno, and a lifelong buddy. […] Knowing you was one of the greatest things of my life, Amano san! Rest in Peace.”
also shared: “He trusted me with incredible opportunities […] and helped release several of my early works. I will never forget his kindness and belief in me. Everything I am today is because of those experiences.”
