🥊 There ain’t no opponent tougher than the one who stares back at you in the mirror…
The great philosopher Confucius once said ‘The man who says he can,and the man who says he can’t. Are both usually right.’
Rocky Marciano pictured, retired with an unblemished 49-0 record eventually retiring as an unbeaten reigning heavyweight world champion.
In many bouts Marciano would find himself down on the scorecards of the judges and officials. Whenever that was the case it was Rockys undying will to not be beaten matched with a self belief within himself that he could always catch up to his man.
Self belief can be the difference between winning and losing…. A lack of self belief will bring even the biggest and baddest of men crumbling to their knees.
The man looking back at you in the mirror will be your toughest opponent, your hardest battle.
There’s nothing wrong in a fighter losing…never. But it’s in how you lose that can be sometimes considered the ‘wrong’.
We can see when a fighter goes out on his shield just as clear as we can see a fighter who lacks self belief.
That guy in the mirror staring back at you…face him, trust him and always believe in him.
Your own perception of yourself matters more than what 10,000 plaudits throwing adulation or casting hate upon you ever will.
‘The man who says he can,and the man who says he can’t. Are both usually right.’
