:Governor James Orengo has blocked a traditional reconciliation framework, disqualifying the Council of Elders from mediating his deepening leadership rift with Oburu Odinga
Orengo has outlined the following four strict conditions that must be met before he agrees to meet with Dr. Oburu Oginga.
1. Clearly Structured Framework: Both sides must agree on a well-defined and formal framework to guide any reconciliation talks.
2. Commitment to ODM Ideals: Oburu and the current party hierarchy must demonstrate a genuine commitment to restoring the founding activist principles of the ODM, as originally championed by former party leader Raila Odinga
3. Neutral Arbitration: The mediation team facilitating the talks must be neutral and completely exclude the current leadership of the Luo Council of Elders
4. Return of Alleged State Funds: The opposing faction must return all funds allegedly sourced from President William Ruto, with Orengo stating his camp will not tolerate President Ruto's financial influence over the party.
