UPDATE: Baringo Senatorial Aspirant Wakili Benjamin Chebon Meets President Ruto at State House
Baringo Senatorial aspirant Wakili Benjamin Chebon on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on President William Samoei Ruto at State House, Nairobi, where they discussed development priorities for Baringo County and the nation at large.
The youthful advocate, who was accompanied by Kapseret MP Hon. Oscar Sudi, described the meeting as “a great honour and a moment of inspiration.”
“During our meeting, we discussed the future of our beloved county, Baringo, and our nation at large. My star has been steadfast, and God has been my guiding light,” said Chebon in a statement shared after the meeting.
Chebon, who is vying for the Baringo senatorial seat on The New Democrats (TND) ticket, reaffirmed his belief in unity and respect for leadership, noting that he remains “a firm believer in the authority and blessings of our elders and leaders.”
He emphasized that his mission to transform Baringo and Kenya remains “steady and unwavering,” adding that he is committed to working with all leaders to achieve meaningful progress for the people.
Chebon, who rose from a humble background — previously working as a matatu tout before becoming an advocate of the High Court — is among ten aspirants cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to contest in the November 27 Baringo Senatorial by-election.
His meeting with the President, alongside the influential Kapseret legislator, is seen by observers as a signal of growing political engagement between emerging leaders in Baringo and national figures within the ruling coalition.
