MARSABIT WOMAN STUNS DOCTORS AFTER GIVING BIRTH TO FIVE BABIES.

A 20-year-old first-time mother from Oltorot in Loiyangalani Ward, Marsabit County, has given birth to quintuplets after doctors had initially believed she was expecting twins.

The mother delivered three boys and two girls at Marsabit Teaching and Referral Hospital in a rare and remarkable birth. The babies were born prematurely at an estimated six to seven months of pregnancy, with each weighing between 840 grams and one kilogram.

All five newborns are receiving specialized care in incubators, while both the mother and her babies are reported to be in stable condition.

According to hospital officials, earlier ultrasound scans indicated a twin pregnancy, making the arrival of five babies a complete surprise for both the family and the medical team.

The hospital has appealed to leaders, well-wishers, and charitable organizations to support the family as they face the enormous responsibility of caring for five newborns at the same time.

Quintuplet births are exceptionally rare worldwide, making this one of the most extraordinary deliveries ever recorded in the region.

Two buses were involved in an accident near Riting, Turkwel Dam. The buses were carrying students from Mosop Constituency, Nandi County who were going for an educational tour.

Several students are reportedly seriously injured.
