Life history of the late Priscillah Jelimo Kangogo
The Late Priscillah Jelimo Kangogo was born on 17th May 1973 at Seretunin, Terekwen Village, Ewalel Chapchap Ward, Baringo Central Sub-County, Baringo County. She was the fourth daughter to the late Enock Kangogo Komen and late Rebecca Tarkok Komen, stepdaughter of late Ann Kobilo. The Late Priscillah Kangogo was wife to Sammy Chemjor kiptui of Kabirmoi, Kabasis location, Sacho Ward, Baringo Central Sub-County, Baringo County. They were blessed with five children namely, Sharon Jepchirchir, Iris Jelagat, Nicholas Chesire, Helima Jebor, and Maureen Jerop. Mother-in-law to Josphat Kisoi. She is blessed with four grandchildren namely, Mashack Kipchumba, Collins Kimuge, Joy Kaptuya and Mitchell Jebet.
Family life
The Late Priscillah Kangogo was sister to Michael, late Grace, Julia, David, late Dickson, late Japhet, late Joseph, Laban and Millicent.She was stepsister to Daniel and Joshua. Sister-in-law to Rhoda, Jeniffer, the late Margaret, Alice, Billah, Irene and Moses. Auntie to Victor, Benson, Gladys, Kibet, Josephine, Jane, Agnetta, Mercy, Frankline, June, Emmanuel, Rosina, Ronald, Leila, Jacinta, Edward, Kiplimo, Terry, Tabitha, Tracy, Peter, Patrick, Caroline, Sylvia, Sonia, Komen, Kipruto and Owen
Education Life
The Late Priscillah started in education at Seretunin Primary School in the year 1979 and did her KCPE in the year 1988 where she did well and was able to join Moi High School, Kabartonjo in the year 1989. She later joined Kaimosi Teachers College in the year 1996 and completed in the year 1997. The late later joined Diploma College and completed in the year 2011 with a Diploma in Education.
Employment / Profession Life
In 1997, Teacher Priscillah received her first posting at Kabirmoi Primary School, where she diligently served until 2017. That year, she was promoted to the position of Senior Teacher, a role she embraced with great dedication until her untimely demise. Throughout her career, she was known for her unwavering commitment to her work and her exceptional passion for her learners. Her tireless efforts and love for teaching earned her numerous certificates of merit. Teacher Priscillah was not only hardworking but also a true mentor both in education and in social life. She inspired many with her wisdom, compassion, and steadfast dedication. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.
Christian Life
She was a devoted member of AIC Seretunin and Kabirmoi since her childhood. She has been a Sunday School child till 1988 when she was promoted to be a Sunday School teacher. In the year 1990, she was baptized at Moi High School Baringo, Kabartonjo.
Health Life
The late Priscillah was at good health till the year 2011 when she was diagnosed with diabetic and she underwent treatment. In the year 2022, she started complaining that her stomach was painful. Later on, in the same year her stomach started swelling. On May 2023, she was taken to Kabarnet Referral Hospital for treatment. Thereafter referred to Iten Referral Hospital for further treatment where she was then referred to Chandaria Cancer Centre where she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer given medication and discharged. After some few days she was in pain which could not be controlled and Dr. Kalia advised us to take her to Eldoret where she was moved to Top-Hill private Hospital. She was assisted by Dr.Izura and Dr. Lee where surgery was done. On 25th May 2023, this was her first checkup where she was taken back to Eldoret Oncology Hospital for chemotherapy operation. She received six cycles of chemo where she received the last chemotherapy on 10th August 2023. She got improved till March 2025. She complained again and was rushed to Kabarnet and later referred to Eldoret for further treatment. She improved and discharged back home. After sometime we took her back to Reale Hospital where the situation was worsening and we transferred her to Top-Hill Hospital and later discharged back home. She started receiving home care treatment under Dr. Koech (Kerio), Dr. Ronald Rerimoi, Dr. Simion Tuitoek, Dr. Kipsang Tuitoek, and community health promoters Cynthia Chebon and Christopher Keitany. On 4th Sept 2025 her condition worsened and was taken to Tionycare Hospital Kabarnet at around 5:00 am.
On Friday 5th September 2025 at around 5:00 pm she succumbed.
