A story is told of an elder who inserted his hand in a hole to check how deep it was. Little did he know that inside the hole lived a venomous snake. He was bitten. He cried and warned the entire village never to play near that hole since there lived a dangerous snake.

However, another man in the same village dismissed the elder and told people to fear nothing. In fact, he said he will lead by example and went ahead to insert his hand in the very hole. A few moments later the man was heard wailing and gnashing teeth after suffering a ferocious snake bite... He apologized to and for dismissing the elder and also went ahead to warn the village never to play near that hole.
