Today, we bade farewell to the late Mayi Millah Nabangala (Omukhelenge) beloved wife to the late Mzee Timona Kituyi (Omulako).
Mayi Millah was a devoted mother, a hardworking woman and a pillar of her community. She ventured into tailoring a trade she used not just to sustain her family, but also to uplift others around her. Her hands shaped not only garments, but also hope and dignity in her village. Her passing marks the end of a generation that believed in honesty, diligence, and unity.
We gathered at Sango Village, Kuywa Location, Mukuyuni Ward, Kabuchai Constituency to pay our last respects. The large turnout was a true reflection of the love and admiration the community had for her.
As I stood before the mourners, I took that solemn moment to make an earnest appeal to the Mulembe Nation:
It is time we rise beyond our divisions. It is time we speak with one voice. For far too long, our disunity has been our greatest weakness a weakness that has cost us respect and political influence in the national arena.
We must rally behind Speaker Moses Masika Wetang'ula, E.G.H,MP, a son of our soil who continues to represent the Luhya Nation with dignity and wisdom. Supporting him is not about politics of personality it is about restoring the pride and respect of our people among other regions. Only through unity can the Luhya Nation stand tall and be recognized as a strong and organized political force in this country.
May the soul of Mayi Millah Nabangala rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy of hard work and community spirit remind us that our strength lies in togetherness. 🕊️
