The bursary application exercise for Tongaren Constituency university and college students was officially launched today by the CDF Chairman Mr. Joseph Waliaula on behalf of the area Member of Parliament Hon. John Murumba Chikati at Sirakaru Sublocation Naitiri Kabuyefwe Ward.

We encourage all Tongaren comrades to take full advantage of the remaining days to apply and ensure they complete their applications within the set timeline.

Parents and guardians are also urged to support students who are still in school by assisting them in completing the application process on time.

Let’s work together to ensure that no deserving student misses this important opportunity.

Parents and guardians have turned up in large numbers, with the office encouraging all eligible students to take advantage of this bursary initiative aimed at supporting comrades in their education journey.

The exercise will run from today until date 17th, and is being conducted in all sub-locations within Tongaren Constituency.

Today Our Patron Hon John Murumba Chikati and CDF Chairman Mr Joseph Edward Waliaula and the bursary committee members,oversaw a successful issuance of bursary cheques in Milima and Mbakalo Wards for students learning outside the constituency.

Improving Sanitation in Our Schools

The Tongaren NG-CDF, under the patronage of Hon. Dr. John Murumba Chikati, is constructing a modern, exhaustible 20-door pit latrine at Maliki Boys Secondary School.

The facility includes two doors specially designed to accommodate persons with disabilities (PWDs), ensuring inclusivity for all learners.

This initiative underscores our strong commitment to enhancing student health, promoting hygiene, and upholding dignity—ultimately creating a safer and more conducive learning environment for everyone.

Tongaren NG-CDF is undertaking the construction of a modern, state-of-the-art two-storey, self-contained girls’ dormitory at Mitua Girls Secondary School. Once complete, the facility will accommodate over 300 students, significantly improving boarding capacity.

This multi-storey block project is designed to optimize the use of limited land while delivering modern, centralized, and high-capacity learning facilities for the institution.

This transformative initiative, spearheaded by Patron Hon. John Chikati, represents a long-term investment in education. It aims to address the growing student population, ease congestion, and create a more conducive environment for both learning and student welfare.

The renovation of Milimani Primary School under the Ondoa Matope Initiative brings to the total forty three Primary school that have either been renovated or constructed since September 2023 by the Tongaren CDF under the patronage of Hon. John Chikati.

School infrastructure is a fundamental determinant of educational quality, directly impacting student attendance, academic performance, and staff motivation. Safe, well-equipped, and comfortable environments; including laboratories and libraries increase student engagement, improve learning outcomes, and reduce school dropout.

This is what we seek to achieve. Developing Tongaren is our target, our purpose and our intention.
