STATEMENT FROM OFFICE OF THE MARACHI COMMUNITY SPOKESPERSON
TO THE PREVIOUS AND CURRENT HOLDERS OF GOVERNORS OFFICE IN BUSIA COUNTY
We, the Marachi community are writing to express our deep disappointment in your leadership. Thirteen years of your leadership has progressively been a pure let down to the great people of Busia.
Your inability to address critical issues, prioritize personal gain over the collective good, and lack of accountability have eroded our trust and left us feeling disillusioned and betrayed.
We have seen:
A lack of vision:
Your plans have been shortsighted, failing to address the long-term needs of our community and leaving us unprepared for future challenges.
Poor decision-making:
Important decisions have been made without proper consultation or analysis, often resulting in harmful consequences.
Ineffective communication:
You have failed to transparently communicate your plans and actions, leaving us feeling uninformed and excluded from the decision-making process.
A culture of corruption:
Allegations of unethical behavior and self-serving practices within your administration have undermined our faith in your integrity.
Disregard for the most vulnerable:
Your policies consistently failed to adequately support those most in need, leaving marginalized communities behind.
TO THE CURRENT COUNTY GOVERNMENT
We demand:
Accountability:
Acknowledge the failures of your leadership and take concrete steps to rectify them.
Transparency:
Be open and honest about your decisions, providing clear explanations for your actions.
Effective leadership:
Demonstrate competence, commitment, and genuine concern for the well-being of the people you serve.
Collaboration:
Actively engage with diverse perspectives and work to build consensus on critical issues.
A change in priorities:
Put the needs of the community first, not your own personal agenda.
