🌿 MY JOURNEY AS MKULIMA BILA JEMBE 🌿

I am Ibrahim Amukambwa – a musician, comedian, agronomist, and proudly known as Mkulima bila Jembe.

I chose to embrace my talent, profession, and passion together, and today I use music, comedy, and agronomy to inspire and empower young people to see agribusiness as a career of dignity and opportunity.

None of this journey would be possible without the support around me. Great thanks to my employer, Empowered Citizens Youth CBO (EYCBO), in partnership with ECOSUSTINET and GIZ PRO SOIL, for giving me the platform to reach communities, train farmers, and promote climate-smart agriculture.

💡 With creativity, partnership, and passion, we can turn agribusiness into the business of the future.

📰 MKULIMA BILA JEMBE – YESTERDAY’S NEWS (25th SEPTEMBER 2025) 📰

In Navakholo Sub-county, youths were urged to embrace Climate-Smart Agriculture as a career of the future. The CECM for Youth, Sports, Gender & Culture, Ms. Jackline Masicha, presided over a lively Climate-Smart Agriculture Field Day, hosted by farmer Richard Ogot. His daughter, Audry Habiba, inspired many by proving that farming can be both profitable and sustainable. 🌱

With over 10,000 youths already active in agribusiness across Kakamega, the County pledged more investment in value addition, social grants, and cooperative support to ensure young farmers reap maximum benefits. Parents were also urged to give their children access to land so they can start their farming journey.

Ms. Masicha further reminded the youth to prepare for the upcoming Governor’s Cup ⚽, while Chief Officer for Cooperatives, Mr. Daniel Sumba, encouraged young people to form more groups to benefit from grants and eventually grow into strong cooperativeMkulima Bila Jembe Amukambwabwa Farmgal254254Farmgirl FlealeaPractical Dairy Training Centre,Kenyanya Vicky NangangaEvve Mwenjenje

Class,
Based on the last exam, I’ve realized some of you only attend this lecture because it’s free ,and maybe because we serve free organic drinks once in a while.

Now, pay attention, because the next exam will come from here.

Trellising - simply means supporting plants.

Below is a photo of Lecturer Ken in a cucumber plot. If you look closely, you’ll see strings running from the soil to the top.

Why trellis?
•It makes weeding, spraying, and harvesting easier.
•It prevents fruits from rotting when they touch wet soil.

Important to note: We don’t tie the cucumber stem directly (it’s weak as your relationships ). Instead, we hammer a stick into the soil, run the string upward, then hook the plant gently.

Also, you’ll see strong wooden posts on top , this prevents sagging when cucumbers start fruiting and pulling everything down.

Class dismissed.
Don’t just read ,apply it on your farm!
