Being in a vegetative state means he now depends entirely on machine support to stay alive. As a result, his medical bills have already surpassed Ksh 1 million and continue to increase rapidly.

In some cases, families are forced to seek court orders to withdraw life support and allow for a dignified send-off. Bonface cannot move, speak, or respond—he is only being kept alive by machines, waiting for the inevitable.

Afisa wa polisi kutoka Kaunti ya Nairobi alipata aibu kubwa baada ya kula mayai yaliyochemshwa kando ya barabara na kisha kukataa kulipa. Kwa mujibu wa mashuhuda waliokuwepo eneo hilo, afisa huyo alikula mayai hayo mawili na alipodaiwa kulipa shilingi 30, alijibu kwa dharau akisema kuwa hiyo ni "kodi ya serikali" na kwamba haipaswi kulipa.

Kauli hiyo iliwakasirisha wananchi waliokuwa karibu, ambao waliamua kumlazimisha afisa huyo kutoa pesa taslimu. Wakazi hao walimzingira na kushinikiza alipe gharama ya mayai aliyokula, wakisema kuwa hakuna mtu aliye juu ya sheria, hata k**a ni afisa wa usalama.

Hatimaye, baada ya presha kubwa kutoka kwa umma, polisi huyo alilazimika kuchomoa shilingi 30 kutoka mfukoni na kumlipa muuzaji mayai. Tukio hilo limeibua mjadala mitandaoni kuhusu matumizi mabaya ya mamlaka na tabia za baadhi ya maafisa wa polisi, huku wengi wakitaka hatua zichukuliwe ili kuimarisha maadili ya utumishi wa umma.
