Baringo Son — Dr Stephen Cheboi Appointed to Senior Role at Mount Kigali University, Rwanda
Dr. Stephen Tomno, a distinguished academic and son of Baringo County, has been appointed to a senior position at Mount Kigali University in Rwanda, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career in higher education.
Dr. Tomno, who until recently served as the Deputy Director of Academics and Research Affairs at Mount Kenya University, has officially taken up his new role in Kigali, where he is expected to bring transformative leadership and academic excellence.
Born and raised in Baringo Central, with roots in Kibingor, Baringo South, Dr. Tomno is widely respected for his dedication to education and scholarly pursuits. He is an alumnus of Kabarnet High School, where his academic journey began before transitioning into teaching. He began his career as a secondary school teacher at Ng'ambo Secondary School, and later served at Kitiro High School and Kabarnet High School.
His move to university lecturing and administration came as a natural progression of his commitment to shaping future generations. At Mount Kenya University, he played a pivotal role in advancing research initiatives and strengthening academic programs within the School of Education.
In a statement, Mount Kenya University lauded Dr. Tomno's contributions, expressing confidence in his ability to make a lasting impact in his new role across the border.
