This year I haven't written anything about our culture and history and heritage.
And today being on a Sunday, I am going to tell you about Thanksgiving as it was traditionally performed by my people. It was called Rotet,and it was performed at kapkoros; kapkoros was a holy place like church is.

And by the way our kapkoros haikuwa inaekwa just a random place not the way we build churches anywhere and anyhow.

Back to Rotet. I was performed only once at the end of season, or as we currently call year.
At kapkoros, a bull was slaughtered and the finest meat was roasted. The smoke was believed to reach high above where Asis dwells in.

During the ceremony only the priests(si wa kanisa),the pure(a few were selected) and the important/respected people were allowed closer to the burning meat. Here they were supposed to rotate the sacrifice 4 times in anticlockwise direction. While at it they would sing certain songs(that I won't mention here) and chant the things they(community) were grateful for.
They were mostly grateful for harvest, won battles, kids born within the season, increased livestock, disease free season, weather etc.

I think here is where the term KIROTE when giving gifts Kwa sherehe came from.

Also note that it is wrong kuzunguka MTU in a clockwise direction. Kwanza wamama Kwa sherehe mnapeana zawadi mkizunguka in clockwise direction si poa.

Over 2,000 Youth Thursday engaged police officers in a cat and mouse chase within the Eldoret Central Business District after they were denied a demonstration permit.
The irate youth are demanding for immediate resignation of Cabinet Secretary Cooperative and SMEs Simon Chelugui after his involvement in the launch of the First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy and agency they claim has defrauded them Millions of Shillings by promising them job abroad ,
“We have every reason to believe CS Chelugui , Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago ,Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and Businessman David Lagat are aware of this scam that have left over 4,000 youth in abject poverty , The leaders were present during the launch of the Organization in Eldoret ,we paid each 40,000 shillings while others paid in cash upto 400,000 shillings to Judy Chepchichir the First Choice recruitment consultancy manager”
The Youth who for last three days informed the Eldoret Central Police station commanding officer of their intent to hold peaceful demonstrations , claim security officers may have been compromised to deny them their right to picket ,

A lady by the name Judith jepchirchir kolil From riftvalley the managing director of first choice recruitment and consultancy agency.......corned over 4k youths each payed 40k from Uasin-gishu and the entire rift valley province claiming to be recruited to work in Qatar to work under the world cup umbrella and as we talk the victims are still at home and we All know that the world cup has kicked off, the youths and their families have remained jobless with poverty because their parents sold home assets in order to pay for them, the lady is claiming to be the deepstate whereby nowhere the youths Can take her to,,, also she's claiming that she's in contact with the government. The youths are seeking for Justice to prevail!
