Deep in the rainforests of Borneo, a wildlife rescue team filmed something so heartbreaking it stopped the world cold.

An Orangutan watched its tree come crashing down under an excavator's bucket. His home was being destroyed.

With nowhere left to go, it did the only thing it could — it walked straight toward the machine and grabbed the bucket with its bare hands.

It wasn't a threat. It wasn't an attack. It was an animal that had run out of options and just wanted them to stop.

The International Animal Rescue team was there that day. They darted the orangutan, carried it to safety, and brought it to their rehabilitation centre in Ketapang,

West Borneo. The Orangutan survived. The forest did not.

Despite government promises to protect it, illegal logging continued under cover of darkness
