The Mombasa Commuter Rail Service Train will ease urban transport within Mombasa City for 5,000 passengers per day.

It will reduce costs from the current 1000 shillings and 400 shillings by matatu and taxi respectively to only 50 shillings.

There is no longer any room in Kenya for tribalistic and retrogressive politics that enrich a few at the expense of the many. We are charting a new course; one of bold, visionary leadership that transforms lives and unites our nation.

At State House, Nairobi, I was delighted to share with grassroots leaders from Murang’a County the tangible progress of our development agenda.

We have allocated Sh23 billion for the construction of 10,300 affordable houses, Sh3.5 billion to upgrade roads, Sh2.3 billion for the development of 23 modern markets, and Sh3 billion for new student hostels.

To accelerate entrepreneurship and inclusive growth, more than 10,000 households will be connected to electricity by December through our ambitious Sh850 million electrification project.

We have also committed to build two modern stadiums worth over Sh1.5 billion and to connect Kangema, Mathioya, Kiharu, and Kandara to clean water under a Sh2.4 billion water project.

We have before us a rare and historic opportunity to make every part of our country truly prosperous.

In Kisii, we are rolling out transformative investments: 15,000 affordable housing units worth Sh30 billion, Sh2.5 billion in modern tertiary student hostels, and four state-of-the-art markets valued at Sh2.4 billion.

In Nyamira, we are driving equally bold change through life-changing projects worth over Sh16 billion: 7,000 housing units, student hostels, and three modern markets that will anchor trade and economic growth.

Over 32,000 homesteads across Kisii and Nyamira will also be connected to reliable electricity, unlocking commerce, enabling industries, and giving our people the tools to thrive.

At Statehouse, Nairobi, hosted a Gusii political leadership delegation led by Kisii Governor Simba Arati.

Also present were ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, Cabinet Secretary Ogamba Migosi, Solicitor General Shadrack Mose, among others.

Kenya is a nation of champions; a country where talent, discipline, and resilience have produced legends who inspire the world. To sustain this proud tradition and secure our rightful place among the greats, we are investing heavily in modern infrastructure and availing the necessary resources for our athletes to thrive on the global stage.

To further motivate and reward excellence, we have significantly enhanced the athletes’ reward scheme. Gold medal winners will now earn Sh3 million, up from Sh750,000; silver medalists Sh2 million, up from Sh500,000; and bronze medalists Sh1 million, up from Sh350,000. We have also raised their daily allowances from USD 60 to USD 200, a clear demonstration of our commitment to valuing their sacrifice and celebrating their victories.

At State House, Nairobi, I proudly flagged off the team that will represent Kenya at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan. I wish them resounding success as they carry our nation’s flag, spirit, and pride onto this prestigious global stage. Go make Kenya shine.
