HOW TO LEARN and PASS IELTS (Part 2)
Now, lets focus on reading and writing sections of IELTS. In reading, there are three sections with 40 questions, done in 60 minutes. It has the following types of questions: identifying information, multiple choice, identifying a writer's views/claims, matching headings, matching information, matching features, matching sentence ending, sentence completion, summary, note, table, flow-chart completion, diagram label completion, and short-answer questions. Difficulty increases with sections. The secret lies in practicing with relevant YouTube videos.
The final one is writing, with 2 tasks done in 60 minutes. In task 1, you are given a diagram, a graph, table, or a chart, where you are supposed to describe it in 150 words. It is done in 20 minutes. Here, you have to practice writing essays where you describe something, such as a Christmas tree, a building, a vehicle, etc. Task 2 involves presenting your point of view, an argument, or give a problem that you need to discuss. You have to write at least 250 words in 40 minutes. You can do them either on paper or on a computer. Thus, if you like typing, here is your advantage. However, if you prefer writing on paper, still, you are better off.
Pro TIP:
• Always attempt all questions, no penalty for failing a test
• Poor spelling and grammar are penalized, so, work on them
• Each question is worth 1 mark
• Adhere to word limit. 1990, for example, is one number.
• Contracted words not tested. Hyphenated words and date are a single word and one number respectively
• Avoid distractions when listening to audio, they are not repeated
• Practice, practice, practice.
GOOD LUCK!!!

HOW TO LEARN AND PASS IELTS
In the IELTS exam, there are four sections that you have to complete successfully, and if you have done well, you will achieve a good band according to your target. You may want band 6.0, 6.5/7.0, 7.5/8.0, or above that. With two types of IELTS tests, Academic and General Training, academic are for students and general training are for immigrants to English speaking countries. Today, lets focus on the most common one, Academic IELTS. Remember, after self-training, you can book for exams on IELTS website, and attend it as scheduled.
You do not have to go to an agency to pay and learn IELTS. You just have to be confident with yourself and obtain online resources on the four parts: Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Listening tests. You can do them at the comfort of your home, with internet and either your phone, desktop computer or laptop. Its all about self believe. The questions being tested there are what you interacted with since your elementary studies.
Starting with Listening tests, it has four sections, each with its own tests. They are: conversation of two people, one person speaking, two students and one lecturer, and finally where one person talks. You have to listen keenly and answer the questions based on what you heard. So, you have to train yourself to listen to the fast speaking British people, either on TV, radio, or YouTube videos. Do demo IELTS speaking tests on YouTube and websites to get it further.
Speaking test has three parts: introducing yourself, Cue Cards topics, and further explanation of part 2 topics or new ones. Introducing yourself includes your name, occupation, where you’re from, about your family, and your hometown. In the second part, cue cards, you are given topics to describe. Example of those topics includes: technology, accommodation, media, tourism, education, school, etc. so, you have to say something substantive about that topic. Its easy, all you have to do is watch practice videos on YouTube. For section three, you are asked questions on the topics in part 2 or new ones. An example of those questions is: describe your favorite city or a city you have visited that you like very much. So, you have to state the city, why it is your favorite, when did you visit it and with who, why you visited it, and if you plan to visit it in future. see! That easy, again, you just have to practice it on relevant websites or YouTube videos.
Watch out for the second section explaining about the reading and writing sections. I will also include some important tips to watch our as you prepare and take IELTS exams. All the best in your endeavors.
