Former Chesumei MP Elijah Lagat is dead

The former legislator died while undergoing treatment at Eldoret hospital

Until his death,Lagat was a member of the National Campaign Against Drug Abuse Authority Board

The Lagat was first elected into parliament in 2007 through ODM ticket representing Emgwen Constituency

Later, Emgwen constituency was divided into two creating Chesumei Constituency which Lagat again in 2013 emerged the first elected legislator in the newly formed making his way to National assembly under Jubilee party

Elijah Kiptarbei Lagat born 19 June 1966 was the winner of the 104th running of the Boston Marathon held in 2000.

UPDATE: A task force led by former Deputy CJ Dr Nancy Baraza has proposed mandatory chemical ca-stra-tion for both male and female se-xu-al offenders, including pe-do-philes who inflict or threaten sexual vio-len-ce against children under 18.

The taskforce also proposes a complete ban on out-of-court settlements in gender-based violence (GBV) cases.

I'm learning. I'm learning to get out of my shell and do the things i always wanted to do but couldn’t because i was scared of what people might say. I still am scared but i know great things lie beyond fear, and i deserve them. So I’m slowly taking my power back into my hands and I’m trying to care less about what people think of me. I’ve got only one life, I can’t waste it hiding who I am! I hope i create a life i'm proud of. ✨🙏
