KUZA JAMII PHASE II LAUNCHED, BOOSTING 928 TANA RIVER HOUSEHOLDS
TANA RIVER — Kuza Jamii Phase II was officially launched at Ovo Primary School today, marking a major step in strengthening financial inclusion for vulnerable families in Tana River County.
The Acting County Secretary led the ceremony, receiving a symbolic dummy cheque as grants were rolled out to beneficiaries who recently completed training in financial literacy, business development, and Gender Equality & Social Inclusion.
A highlight was the testimony of Nuru Hagalido Hamisi, a Phase I beneficiary, who said the program had significantly improved her family’s economic stability.
A total of 35 VSLAs received grants amounting to over KSh 10 million, benefiting 928 participants.
The event brought together partners including CHASP Advisory, Village Enterprise, Echo Network Africa, UK International Development, Smart Region Consultants, GENCAD, national government officials, and county leadership.
Speakers encouraged community members to join SACCOs and cooperatives to enhance their saving culture and access broader economic opportunities.
Kuza Jamii continues to empower households, build stronger enterprises, and promote long-term resilience across Tana River County.
