Just grateful for life and the people who make it beautiful 😍

In 2016, 70-year-old Lawrence Ripple from the U.S. decided to rob a bank for an unusual reason: he didn’t want to go home after an argument with his wife. Calmly handing a teller a note claiming he had a gun, he took $3,000 and then waited in the lobby for the police to arrive. When asked, Ripple explained he would “rather be in jail than at home.” His actions were partly influenced by post-surgery depression.

Despite the serious crime, Ripple’s case was met with empathy. With the support of bank staff and his legal team, he received no prison time. Instead, the court sentenced him to house arrest, probation, and community service. The ultimate irony? He had to serve his sentence at home with his wife, the very place he had tried to escape. Ripple’s story shows how life can sometimes come full circle, with unexpected twists and awkward lessons.

As a man,
unemployment cuts deep.
Respect fades, silence grows,
kindness feels conditional.

Rise each day, rebuild yourself—
the world is rarely gentle to a poor man.

Am happy to be happy 😊. Rejoice always 😊

I’m honestly concerned about the kind of people we are becoming. Yesterday, I visited a couple in my business circle. To be fair, I had other things that took me there… but also, let me not lie, my stomach had its own independent agenda.

So I get there, and the lady politely asks, “What can I offer you?”

Now, as a well-brought-up human being who still respects culture and subtle begging… I said, “I’m okay.”

Not because I was okay.

But because I was waiting for the second round of asking. You know… the “Are you sure? At least take something small…” — that’s when I would now say, “Okay, just a little.” Like a respectable hungry person.

She said, “Okay.”

The husband? Also said, “Okay.”

OKAY?! Just like that?! No follow-up? No pressure? No cultural persistence??!

My stomach paused. Even it was confused.

Next thing, the husband announces, “I’m famished. Let’s take a break so we can eat, then continue later.”

Friends… when the aroma of that food reached me, it didn’t just pass my nose — it touched my soul. My ancestors stood up.

My stomach started rumbling like it was filing a formal complaint. Tears formed. Real tears. But I had to stay strong. I picked my phone and started scrolling like a CEO of Hunger Management Ltd.

Tell me, what kind of people don’t insist? Even once? Not even a “sure?” with eye contact??

We are truly losing our culture. Because how do you let a visitor sit there… hungry… dignified… suffering silently… when you have food?! 😢

but you said you're okay😂😂😂

The biggest supporter is a stranger.
Your biggest hater is someone you know.
