THE 1ST ON THE ORACLE'S BENCH FOR DIRECTOR KENYA SUGAR BOARD FOR WESTERN UPPER REGION IS PAMELA BENCHI- MUKABANA
SHE was born in Lukala Village of Mugai Shirugu ward in Malava Sub County to the late Douglas Benchi se Mmbaka omuchi and Sarah daughter of Zachariah Maalang'ang'a se Iningilo omungachi.
HER father- Benchi was a renown educationist and leader in Kabras. Her mother, Sarah Benchi, once served as a the first woman Councillor in Kabras during the Nyayo era.
PAMELA went to Lukala Primary School, Lugulu Secondary School for her O’ Levels before proceeding to Bunyore Girls High School for her A Levels, completing in 1984.
SHE holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Master’s degree in Literature both from University of Nairobi.
HER teaching career began in the late 1980s. She has taught in various secondary schools, most notably Highway Secondary School—famed for its Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) football victories. Under her leadership, the school rose from obscurity to national recognition, excelling both in sports and academics.
PAMELA is married to Dr. Joseph Mukabana, former Director of the Kenya Meteorological Services.
She also serves as Director and acting Treasurer at Kamulamba Sugar Company and thus she has FIRST HAND daily experience on sugarcane issues in Western Kenya
She is an active member and Patron of the Lukala Primary Alumni Group.
