The dispute between Geoffrey Mosiria and Oga Obinna has intensified, with each man now demanding an apology and substantial damages over claims of defamation.
Through his lawyers, Mosiria has asked Obinna to take down content about him, publicly retract his statements and apologise, and pay KSh 20 million. The legal team alleges that Obinna has repeatedly joked about Mosiria, including remarks touching on his gender and sexual orientation. They argue the comments harmed his reputation and triggered online harassment aimed at his wife, children and other relatives. Mosiria also says his children have been mocked at school.
Obinna had earlier issued his own demand letter, seeking KSh 10 million, an apology, removal of the contested content and a stop to any further allegedly defamatory statements. His lawyers claim Mosiria made public statements that tied Obinna to accidents, deaths, su***de, addiction, humiliation, financial ruin and declining popularity, as well as to the ruined careers of people who featured on his shows.
Both letters give the recipient seven days to comply, and each side has warned that it may take legal action if its demands are not met.
