This child brought a kitchen knife to school. Reason: he is being bullied and every time he reports, the teacher does nothing. He has armed himself kujitetea na kujipigania.

Teachers, please don’t ignore children when they complain about being bullied. Parents, please listen to your children and create time for them. Parents who have children with bullying tendencies, please advise and guide them to stop bullying others. I feel the pain this child had to endure to the point of trying to protect himself in the only way he knew how because of bullying.

This means refugees in Kakuma can now legally engage the Turkana County Assembly by presenting issues that affect their lives, such as education, health, youth, and services.
It’s a step toward inclusion, dialogue, and shared development for both host and refugee communities.

The revised standing orders now explicitly recognise refugee affairs within Turkana County Assembly’s mandate.
