Optimistic Scholar Annual Dialogue 2026

Sunday, May 24, 2026, was a memorable day of thanksgiving, scholarship, faith, and service as we gathered for the Optimistic Scholar Annual Dialogue 2026 at Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Georgia.

The Dialogue brought together scholars, clergy, educators, students, family members, friends, and well-wishers for a meaningful time of reflection, celebration, and commitment to public good.

As part of the programme, we officially launched the Optimistic Scholar Initiative, a platform committed to supporting students and young scholars through scholarships, mentorship, research support, and leadership development.

We also presented Dr. Ayodele John Alonge’s book, The Life Between the Lines: Memory and the Journey of Becoming, a reflective work on poetry, memory, faith, identity, and personal growth.

It was more than an event. It was a celebration of life, learning, service, and hope for the next generation.

Today is Day 20 of my reflection journey, and I am focusing on the powerful endorsement written by my dear uncle, Dare Olorunfemi, retired Director of Radio Nigeria and Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Nigeria.

His endorsement means a great deal to me because he is not writing only as a reader of the finished book. He is writing as someone who knew my beginning, watched my childhood, understood my environment, and witnessed part of the journey that shaped the person I have become.

A Witness to the Journey of Becoming

Today’s reflection focuses on Professor Emeritus Olanrewaju Jones Moody’s foreword to The Life Between the Lines.

He describes the book as “not only prophetic and visionary” and commends it “for the education of the mind and edification of the heart.”

His words remind me that becoming is not a sudden event. It is a journey shaped by memory, struggle, resilience, faith, and the uncommon grace of God.
