Today, all Bishops of the 13 synods of Methodist Church in Kenya, including former Presiding Bishops, the Conference Secretary, and the Acting Presiding Bishop, held a closed-door meeting to deliberate on the way forward for our Church.
The key focus of this important gathering was to explore how to restore unity among members and effectively plan the Church’s activities moving forward. It was a blessed time of fellowship and reunion—a moment marked by reconciliation and a strong resolve to forge ahead together.
We wish to assure all members that the leadership of the Church is united and committed at the top. We are fully engaged in the mission of the Church and will work to bring all stakeholders together under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We are encouraged by the Word of God in Isaiah 43:18–19: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” Indeed, the Lord is doing a new thing among us.
Forgiveness must be the anchor that keeps us afloat as a Church. As Scripture reminds us in 1 John 1:8, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” Therefore, let us embrace forgiveness and reconciliation—for ourselves, for one another, and for the Body of Christ.
May the Lord be with you all as we walk this renewed journey of faith, unity, and service.
