Adapting violence against women (VAW) prevention programmes across different contexts and geographies is a journey, and very rarely linear.
Through our work with practitioners, activists, researchers, and funders, we’ve learned how adaptation involves rethinking how we deliver programmes, engage with partners and communities, whilst navigating power, time, and quality — often at the same time.
Adaptation Journeys brings together real-world experiences of VAW prevention programmes adapted across different settings, documenting how adaptation actually unfolded, what had to change, what needed protecting, and what teams learned along the way.
Rather than presenting adaptation as a checklist, this accessible resource reflects adaptation as a process shaped by context, relationships, and practice.
