This man Ndindi Nyoro keeps amusing me.
He has announced a major reduction in day secondary school fees from Ksh 1,000 to just Ksh 500 per term for all learners from Grade 10 to Form Four under the Kiharu Masomo Bora Programme 2026.
The move is expected to benefit more than 12,000 students across 65 day secondary schools in the constituency, making secondary education more affordable and accessible to thousands of families.
The new fee structure will take effect from Term One of 2026 and will apply to all students enrolled in public day secondary schools in Kiharu.
In addition to the reduced fees, the programme introduces a comprehensive school feeding initiative where all learners will be provided with lunch on all school days, including Saturdays.
The meal plan includes githeri for three days a week, rice for three days, uji for tea breaks, and chapati on the last Friday of every month, a move aimed at improving student attendance, concentration, and overall academic performance.
