The journey to modernize Gusii Stadium to a 14,000 seater matrix is underway! Initial works; including mobilization and demolition of old steel structures; are now complete, with designs ready for the next construction phase.

During today’s site handover from the County Government of Kisii under Governor H.E Simba Arati to the Ministry of Defense, PS Defense Patrick Mariru - PS Defence was joined by County Commissioner James Kamau and Deputy Governor Hon. Elijah Julius Obebo.

Kisii Governor H.E. Simba Arati joined national and county leaders at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi for the opening of the inaugural Kenya Health Summit 2026, presided over by President William Ruto.
​The two-day summit, running under the theme “Reforms Delivered, Health as a Right,” brings together key stakeholders across the health sector to evaluate ongoing reforms, share best practices, and chart a sustainable path forward for healthcare delivery in Kenya.
​Under Governor Arati’s leadership, the County Government of Kisii remains fully committed to delivering accessible, quality, and affordable healthcare services to every home across Kisii County.

MAJOR BOOST FOR HEALTHCARE IN KISII COUNTY.
​We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone for our healthcare sector! Today, H.E. Governor Simba Arati held a high-level consultative meeting with the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, at the Ministry of Health Headquarters in Nairobi.
​Through this strong collaboration, the National Government has allocated vital resources for a comprehensive facelift and modern upgrade of the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH).

​Key Highlights:
1. ​Modernized Infrastructure: State-of-the-art facilities and enhanced amenities to better serve patients.
​2. Expanded Quality Care: Improved capacity to deliver dignified, affordable, and high-quality medical services.
3. ​Regional Impact: Strengthening KTRH’s capability as a primary referral hub for thousands of residents across Kisii County and the entire Lake Region Economic Block (LREB).
​4. Project Timeline: The transformation is set to be completed in approximately 18 months.
