Residents of Nyakach–Nyakwere in Kisumu County have endured over six weeks of relentless heavy rainfall, leaving hundreds of families displaced from their homes. The floods have disrupted normal life, with children unable to attend school and access to healthcare services severely affected due to impassable roads.
Today marked the first moment of relief and renewed hope for the affected community following a humanitarian visit that delivered essential supplies. The assistance was provided through a joint effort by the Trevor Ombija Foundation, the Kenya Red Cross Society, and the Government of Kenya through Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.
To the leaders who go beyond personal interests and stand with communities affected by floods…
who listen, who show up, who act — not for recognition, but for humanity — we see you.
In moments of crisis, leadership becomes service.
And service becomes hope.
