I had the privilege of presenting the 2025 communication activities for CECOME and Manga HEART , where we highlighted how visibility initiatives, impactful campaigns, strategic collaborations, and strong media engagement have shaped our growing insights.

From documentary trailers and edited reels to posters and other creative strategies, we showcased the diverse and dynamic approaches that continue to drive our storytelling.

Yet, we also recognized the ongoing need to strengthen our messaging particularly in bridging gaps where certain demographics remain underserved.

To ensure broader impact, we recommended complementing social media efforts with mainstream platforms, creating a more inclusive communication ecosystem and amplifying our reach.

I smile today because my father created a safe space for me.

He stood firm and chose that none of his daughters would be cut. I may never know the struggles I was spared, but I am deeply grateful that the phrase ‘Ntongire Ogokumia' became my truth. I am whole.

As we raise our voices to end violence against women and girls, I use this platform to call on all parents: shield your daughters.

Do not violate them in the name of culture.
Be the reason they grow up knowing they are complete, enough, and free.

Are we honoring sacred truths or recycling harmful norms?

Culture and religion often shape how we see gender, power, and violence. But what happens when these forces are used to justify harm?

Join us live on Facebook, as we unpack the origins, deconstruct the narratives, and challenge the silence around Gender Based Violence.

This is not just a conversation, it is a call to rethink, relearn, and rebuild healthier ways of being.

As Azenath Okemwa reminds us: those once shielded must now become shields.

Our reminder to survivors of FGM is this, "You carry a powerful voice and with it, a responsibility."

Let us stand together to ensure no girl endures what others did.

Protection is not a privilege it is a collective duty.

It was an honor to facilitate a session for male TOTs, exploring the "people and things" analogy and the deeply ingrained societal narratives that have long reduced women to commodities.

Through reflective discussions, participants unpacked experiences what they witnessed, what resonated, what didn’t and examined the emotional impact of these narratives.

We also discussed fatherhood and its influence on shaping adulthood.

This conversation was timely and necessary, strengthening male engagement in ending GBV and fostering a future built on equity and respect.
