Today, as we celebrate International Youth Day under the theme ‘Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,’ we recognize the power of young people in driving sustainable change. Here in Trans Nzoia, our youth are not just the future—they are the present, shaping our culture, economy, and society through arts, film, and innovation.
Yet, too many young creatives struggle without support. Our filmmakers, artists, and storytellers hold the key to preserving our heritage, creating jobs, and inspiring action on the SDGs—but they need investment, platforms, and policies that empower them.
Today, we call on the Trans Nzoia County Government under the leadership of Governor George Natembeya and the Department of Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture to stand with us! Fund local arts. Establish film grants. Create youth-led cultural hubs. Partner with creatives to tell Trans Nzoia’s stories to the world.
The time for action is now. Let’s invest in youth talent today to build a thriving, sustainable tomorrow. Together, we can turn creativity into impact!
