PRAISE GOD BRETHRENS.
I invite you in God's mercies to discuss this with me and find out the truth.In Matthew 16:21-23 those whom have taken time to read and study it,we see Jesus predicting his death explaining to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders,chief priests and teachers of the law,and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.We aslo see Peter taking him aside and beginning to rebuke him,saying 'Never, Lord! "This shall never happen to you!". Jesus turns and says to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me. You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.Saints,what caught my attention is Jesus calling Peter, Satan and telling him to get behind him for he was a stumbling block to him.Someone will ask him or herself,was Peter possessed by Satan or evil Spirit,did Jesus not insult Peter by calling him Satan,did Satan himself took Peter's body to be a stumbling block to Jesus.Those questions are valid and legal but none defines what Jesus meant.Jesus by calling Peter Satan,he did that by indication that,Peter was thinking like worldly temptation (Satan) rather than God's plan,and rebuking him was to get Peter back in line as a follower, and not a hindrance.Also Jesus calling Peter, "Satan" he isn't necessarily calling Peter evil, but identifying his thinking as a temptation or hindrance to God's plan, something inspired by the adversary(Satan).Many times or occasions when you are under intense suffering or temptations,especially sufferings and temptations that lead to glory,exaltation, and honour alot of voices will arise as stumbling blocks or hindrance.Your friends,close friends,(Peter and Jesus),(job and his friends) relatives or even wives,(job and his wife) will not understand your suffering or temptations in the light of God but in a worldly way.They can easily be inspired by Satan the accuser of God's will to humankind and invent ways to divert you from your line as a follower of Christ.Just like Jesus our LORD and our brother Job we should be alert to discern these worldly temptations and purpose to stand on God's plan no matter how the suffering or temptation is.This year silent and rebuke such temptative thinking from worldly people.In occasions and seasons you find yourself in any suffering or temptation trust God and stick to your line as his child,don't go behold your master,remain in your line and position as a follower and you will see his salvation.Let us grow together,correct me where am wrong or have diverted,iron sharpens iron.Shalom.
