PRESS STATEMENT
From: Office of the Chairman, KNP Turkana Students’ Association
Date: 13th October 2025
URGENT APPEAL FOR SUPPORT TO STRANDED TURKANA STUDENTS FACING EXAM DEADLINE
As Chairman of the Kitale National Polytechnic (KNP) Turkana Students’ Association, I urgently appeal to Turkana leaders to intervene and support dozens of students unable to register for their KNEC and CDACC examinations due to lack of fees.
The registration deadline is tomorrow, 14th October 2025, yet many students remain stranded despite seeking help from bursary offices and well-wishers. Failure to register will jeopardize their education and future careers.
We therefore humbly call upon:
H.E. Governor Jeremiah Ekamais Lomorukai,
Senator Hon. James Lomenen,
Woman Rep. Hon. Cecilia Asinyen, and
All Turkana MPs – Hon. Ngikolong, Hon. Epuyo, Hon. Namoit, Hon. Nabuin, Hon. Namuar, and Hon. Akuja
to urgently:
1. Assist with the required registration fees.
2. Mobilize emergency bursary or departmental support.
3. Establish a long-term mechanism to prevent such crises.
These students represent the future of Turkana — our next generation of professionals and leaders. We appeal for immediate intervention before time runs out.
Signed,
CARLYPETERS LOOGONG KIAPA
Chairman, KNP Turkana Students’ Association
