When I came to this village,I was all set for the rides with my bike and I did cycle for some better part of last year untill I couldn't anymore, here's to the memories👌🏾
I wish I can do this but not in this place, yes I love cycling but Machakos is hilly and undulating, so there are frequent climbs and descents. This makes it more demanding for beginners like me
Untill I find a suitable cycling space for fun my lovely bike will continue taking a rest.
Do you cycle?is it something you enjoy doing oftenly?

How to transplant cabbages to already prepared land read on...
After land preparation, irrigate the field before transplanting Cabbage seedlings. Use healthy seedlings that are 4–6 weeks old and transplant them during the cool hours of the morning or evening. Space the plants properly depending on the variety, apply well-decomposed manure or a small amount of fertilizer in each planting hole. Plant the seedlings at the same depth they were growing in the nursery, firm the soil gently around the roots, and water immediately after transplanting. Keep the soil moist during establishment, replace weak or dead seedlings early, and begin weeding, pest control, and top dressing within 2–3 weeks after transplanting. Is this how you do it?Let me learn from you too...

Here we don't throw anything away just like that for example ,the dry maize cobs and maize stalks are traditionally reused in several practical ways here at home and within the region:

Animal feed
Dry maize stalks and leaves are chopped or stored as fodder for cattle, goats, and donkeys during the dry season. Maize cobs may also be crushed and mixed into livestock feed.

Cooking fuel
Dry cobs and stalks are commonly used as firewood substitutes for cooking in rural homes because they ignite easily and burn steadily.

Mulching and soil conservation
Farmers spread stalk residues in fields to reduce soil erosion, conserve moisture, and improve soil organic matter — especially important in the semi-arid Ukambani region.

Making manure/compost
Maize residues are mixed with animal dung and household organic waste to make compost manure for farms and kitchen gardens.
Traditional storage and household uses
Some cobs are used in small household fires, smoking food, or even as simple scrubbers/cleaners after kernels are removed.

Construction and fencing
Dry stalks can be used temporarily for fencing kitchen gardens, supporting climbing crops, or roofing livestock sheds.

Charcoal briquettes and biofuel
Increasingly, groups and youth enterprises in eastern Kenya convert maize cobs and stalks into briquettes as an alternative fuel source.

Poultry bedding
Crushed dry stalks or cobs are sometimes used as bedding material in chicken houses.

Because Ukambani is relatively dry, people traditionally maximize every part of the maize plant instead of burning or discarding it!
