The Public Service Board is now at full capacity. This morning, Principal Magistrate Hon. V. Asiyo swore in three new board members: Mr. Marios Leterewa, Linda Naserian Lesas, and Jakim Leripe. The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by County Attorney Peinan Loronyokie, County Secretary Wilson Lesuuda, and Public Service Board Chairman Jonathan Lepoora. Also in attendance were Mr. Leitore Philip, Chief Officer for Public Administration in the Office of the Governor, and Priscilla Lanyasunya, Director of Human Resources.

At another vibrant graduation ceremony for students of the Presbyterian University of Eastern Africa, the County Secretary representing the Governor, commended the graduates for their resilience in overcoming challenges to earn their certificates and diplomas. The event, held at Maralal Polytechnic and presided over by the university's Vice Chancellor, celebrated the students' determination and hard work. The Secretary reaffirmed the county government's commitment to being a catalyst for a brighter future for the children of Samburu. He also expressed gratitude for the university’s presence and continued contribution to the development of Samburu County.

He began the day by attending a heartfelt children’s fundraiser at PCEA Church, showing his enduring support for the next generation. Later, he stood shoulder to shoulder with the AIEPCA congregation in a spirited fundraiser to help complete their unfinished church, a symbol of faith and unity.

GOVERNOR LATI LELELIT BRINGS HOPE TO HERDERS AMID HARSH CONDITIONS

His Excellency Governor Lati Lelelit braved the unforgiving terrain of the Kulu landscape, crossing parched riverbeds, dense thickets, and sun-scorched plains to reach Samburu herders grappling with extreme threatening drought. Determined to witness their struggles firsthand, the governor met with herders enduring the relentless heat and scarcity of both water and pastures.

In his powerful style of solidarity, Governor Lelelit joined the herders in watering their livestock and engaged in meaningful consultations. He urged the herders to uphold peace and unity, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding their herds and working together during these trying times.

As a gesture of compassion, the governor also distributed essential food supplies to the affected families. The herders expressed deep gratitude for his support and presence, recognizing his commitment to standing with them when they needed it most.
