MARSABIT ELDERS RELEASED ON BOND IN KAHAWA COURT TERROR CASE

Two prominent Marsabit elders, former Chief Dabasso Fayo and Gurach Dambala Sora, have been released on bond by the Kahawa Law Courts pending the hearing of a terrorism-related case.

According to court documents seen by our newsdesk this evening, Gurach Dambala Sora, who is facing charges linked to the commission of a terrorist act, was released on a bond of Ksh 5 million with a surety of a similar amount.

The court directed the accused to appear before the Chief Magistrate’s Court at Kahawa on June 8, 2026, for further mention and proceedings of the case.

Former Chief Dabasso Fayo was also granted bond of the same amount as legal proceedings continue.

The release of the two elders has drawn attention across Marsabit County, where community members and leaders have been closely following the case.

CLIMATE CHANGE! REBUILDING COMMUNITY RESILIENCE

Marsabit Kenya 1st September,2024
Today, REPAL visited our beneficiary groups in Badassa, Leyai, and Songa. In Badassa, we're excited to see all supported tree nurseries thriving. We distributed 10,000 polytubes and will soon support two groups with dam liners. Trainings on tree nursery management and agroforestry practices will follow next week.

In Leyai and Songa, we also distributed 10,000 polytubes each and delivered materials for establishing new tree nurseries. We’ll be conducting additional trainings in the coming weeks to support these efforts. We’re excited about the progress and look forward to seeing the continued growth and impact of our initiatives!

JUSTIN! Fatal Accident.
Two persons confirmed died following grisly accident along Laisamis-Merille Highway near Moile area, One seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash around Moile area,The accident happened today at around 4:30pm.

The Hilux was heading to Nairobi from Moyale. According to eye-witnesses, the vehicle’s driver lost control and rolled off the road killing the two on the spot.

The injured was referred to Nanyuki Cottage Hospital 🏥 while the two bodies are lying at Laisamis Catholic Mission Hospital Morgue awaiting identification.
