“In Your Eyes” – Spoken Word
In your eyes
I don’t just see tomorrow
I see a future that breathes,
a future that calls my name in soft echoes of hope.
In your eyes
I see strength
not the loud kind that shouts,
but the quiet kind that survives storms
and still dares to smile at the sunrise.
In your eyes
I see potential
unwritten chapters,
pages still turning,
a story that refuses to end in doubt.
And on your skin
oh, on your skin
lies a story the sun itself envies.
On your skin rests natural beauty,
unapologetic, unfiltered, untouched
like the first rain kissing African soil.
On your skin
you give me goosebumps,
not from the cold,
but from a warmth I cannot explain,
a fire that dances beneath my fingertips.
On your skin
lives the pride of Africa
melanin dripping like poetry,
each shade a verse,
each glow a revolution.
And deep down the heart
that sacred place where truth hides
Deep down the heart,
I feel love
not borrowed, not borrowed words
but love that settles,
love that stays.
Deep down the heart
there’s laughter
a sense of humour that heals broken days,
turning pain into punchlines,
and silence into joy.
Deep down the heart
lives a caring feeling
gentle hands in human form,
a soul that understands without asking,
a presence that feels like home.
So when I look at you…
I don’t just see you
I see a future,
I feel a warmth,
I believe in a love
that speaks without words.
Because in your eyes
in your skin
in your heart
I find something rare
something real
I found you.
