“In Your Eyes” – Spoken Word

In your eyes
I don’t just see tomorrow
I see a future that breathes,
a future that calls my name in soft echoes of hope.

In your eyes
I see strength
not the loud kind that shouts,
but the quiet kind that survives storms
and still dares to smile at the sunrise.

In your eyes
I see potential
unwritten chapters,
pages still turning,
a story that refuses to end in doubt.

And on your skin
oh, on your skin
lies a story the sun itself envies.
On your skin rests natural beauty,
unapologetic, unfiltered, untouched
like the first rain kissing African soil.

On your skin
you give me goosebumps,
not from the cold,
but from a warmth I cannot explain,
a fire that dances beneath my fingertips.
On your skin
lives the pride of Africa
melanin dripping like poetry,
each shade a verse,
each glow a revolution.

And deep down the heart
that sacred place where truth hides
Deep down the heart,
I feel love
not borrowed, not borrowed words
but love that settles,
love that stays.
Deep down the heart
there’s laughter
a sense of humour that heals broken days,
turning pain into punchlines,
and silence into joy.

Deep down the heart
lives a caring feeling
gentle hands in human form,
a soul that understands without asking,
a presence that feels like home.
So when I look at you…
I don’t just see you
I see a future,
I feel a warmth,
I believe in a love
that speaks without words.

Because in your eyes
in your skin
in your heart
I find something rare
something real
I found you.

Nyota Yangu.

Ngozi yako laini, hakika yapendeza,
Kila nikikutazama moyo wangu hulegea,
Sauti yako yenyewe ndiyo ilinivutia,
K**a wimbo wa mapenzi usiochujuka.

Shape yenye mnato, leo yafunguka,
Hisia zangu kwako haziwezi kufichika,
Kando yako bila shaka hubambika,
Penzi lako rohoni mwangu hujikita.

Nikiwa gizani, wewe nyota angani,
Wanipa mwangaza, hata pasipo mwani,

Watake wasitake mimi wake,
Ubavuni mwake mie aamkie,
Kifuani changu nacho nilalie.

Maisha mashinani akili ya mji,
Maisha utaratibu wivu acheni,
Chemi chemi iwe ni ya ukweli,
Chembe chembe za dhamani.

Strange Connection

Sorry to spill it all
to pour it out like rain that’s been waiting on the edge of clouds
since we met.

I tried to hold it in,
to act composed,
to fold these feelings neatly in the corners of my chest
but your presence?
It unfolds me.

Your hugs give me the warmth of its kind while on my chest,
and in that moment,
the world feels less heavy.
Like the chaos outside pauses,
just long enough for my heartbeat to whisper,
“Stay.”

Ain’t a lie
for I feel a strange connection of its kind.
Not the loud kind.
Not fireworks screaming across the sky.
But the quiet kind.
The steady kind.
The kind that feels like home
before you even know the address.

At no point do I regret
getting a chance to know you.
Not a single second.
Not a single breath spent wondering “what if.”
Because meeting you
felt less like coincidence
and more like alignment.

Imperfections don’t define the strengths of the heart
they reveal them.
They carve out space
for grace to live.
For patience to grow.
For love to stretch beyond the surface.

They make us unique in every way deep down in the hearts,
where scars are stories,
and stories are proof
that we dared to feel.

Defines the divine kindness
and mutual love to its fullest
a love that doesn’t demand perfection,
only presence.
Only honesty.
Only the courage
to stay.

Unique souls notice such strengths in a person.
And maybe that’s why
I see you.
Not just your smile.
Not just your voice.
But the quiet strength behind it.
The softness that survives in a hard world.

So yes
forgive me for spilling it all.
But some connections
aren’t meant to be whispered.
They are meant to be spoken.

Eyes whishered and made sense,
Not only a detector would sense,
The body was fully shivering a lot.

At a distance voices could be heard,
A bundle of laughter after the other,
Not any kind of explanation needed.

How does it feel being alone in a room,
By choice, no conditions that trigged it,
Maybe doomed by choices one makes.
